All the light we cannot see Review

Review of "All the light we cannot see" by Anthony Doerr

I was walking through the book fair that is organised in New Delhi every year in January through the Harper Collins store. My eyes got stuck at the beautiful, mysterious cover of this book. But they say don't judge a book by it's cover. So I started turning the book around and the other striking feature of it is its title - *All the Light we Cannot See.* And "The Time"  said it "SUBLIME". I thought.. hmm.. interesting.

Turns out the book is really amazing and totally worth it. It is a  fictional story about a French girl, Marie Laure who is born normal but the uncertainties of life takes away her power of sight. The story very beautifully describes what she goes through while enduring all the hardships in life. The beauty of the book lies in how even a person without vision appreciates the nature, fall in love with the ocean. The other part of book recites the story of Werner, a prodigious German boy, who despite his penurious situation works hard and come closer to his dreams.

Anthony Doerr has poetically written various aspects of life during the time of Nazi Germany. The book also very beautifully describes what the whole Germany and France was going through during the Hitler's rein.

Book audit report : "All the light we cannot see" is a perfect blend of pain, love, beauty, family and story. Gorgeously describes that how at the end love wins over war.
