This book is close to my heart. I always heard people say that this book made me cry or that book made me emotional. I never understood it until this date after I started reading religiously with all my hearts. Yes,I agree !! This book has such a powerful content that it would make you cry. 

This book very beautifully depicts the country Afganistan and the Afghans. The real Afghans have big heart , broad mind and a colourful culture. Hosseini has beautifully depicted the culture and hues of the country by embedding it into a heartwarming story of not just one but two women. On the very first page Khaled Hosseini writes that I devote this book to the women of Afganistan.

But as every coin has two sides, the bright colours are somewhere not liked by the people who have dark hearts. These are the people who see freedom of women as disgrace and cannot digest change.

After reading this book I realised how cruel and unjust Taliban has been towards women. They not only tried to suppress women but also tried to kill them at their very soul. But as the time would have it women would definitely rise even if one has to sacrifice oneself for the other to rise. Isn't this a nature very common in our mothers?

Being a girl, this book throbbed me more and clenched my heart as the story proceeded. 

I can only imagine the Taliban's are returning back to Afghanistan in full power. What the women there might be going through at this age. 

I can see the idea that Khaled Hosseini is trying to bring through his story of the Afganistan that he dreams his country to be.
