Rubik Cube: Significance of cube in my life

For people who know me,know that I get attached to small things around me. The reason for that is either those things signify some important life learning to me or that thing was with me during some important phases of my life.

One such thing which I am attached to because of both of the above reason is my Rubik cube. It isn't like I always keep one cube in my pocket or that i love one particular cube which I am keeping with myself safely but whenever I go through some rough patch in my life I do pick one and often is the case that I have to relearn to solve it because of big intervals. Like behind every human activity there is a "why" , I also have a reason why I often find myself solving a cube specially during rough phases of my life.

To explain it let me first try to explain what cube actualy signifies to me, in case someone can relate and this small thing can be there "thing of motivation"

Significance of Solving Rubik Cube:

The cube to me signifies human life, the unsolved cube signifies human life which is out of order but what it also signifies is that all the pieces that you need to solve your life are still in there, not at their right places but they all are there within human capacity even in the worst situation human has all the capability to turn around things so thats a good news, the cube is yet not broken. Now it is upto individual choice if they want to keep that unsolved cube on bed side and keep on living the life they are currently living or to try to solve it ,fix it.

"How" is the secondary question here but does a person wants to fix it is the first one so whenever I pick a cube to solve it,I have actually decided to bring my life is a proper order,to organise it. For this I give efforts,I observe all the colors, I observe on which side a particular color should be or which piece of particular color holds the most importance and which color needs to be fixed first. I observe all that and after those observations I start doing the main thing, which is taking actions.Actions to solve it,no matter how hard it is,no matter how many nights I have to give in,no matter whose help I have to take but what matters is the determination, the persistence, the consistency I have to put in to solve it and whenever I get disheartened I remind myself it's all within my capabilities,it's all inside me andI restart.

Ah,quite motivating process but what's more motivating is the end result. For people who have solved cube atleast once in their life or people who have brought their life's in order by their intentional actions know that feeling, the satisfaction ,the confidence, the smile that it brings to you face that's a bigger motivation.

So that's the reason I end up solving a cube whenever I am down or I feel something is not in my control, the process of solving infuses positivity in me and the end result infuses the confidence in me and next day I find myself taking actions needed to solve situation of my life.

Okay, the story doesn't end here. Now the good part is that we all have to do significant efforts to solve things and even cube but there are always hacks in life. The hack of Rubik cube is the algorithm by which it can be solved. The cube has 4 major algorithm to solve it, similarly I believe there are certain algorithms of life which have helped me in bringing my life in order multiple times.

Following are those algorithm of life:

1) A deep 8 hours sleep and a morning routine: This is been talked about so much by the life coaches still I believe this is underrated.

2) Writing Journals and expressing:  There is a mantra I follow " the Unexpressed emotions never die". Once a person starts writing journals or expressing what's inside there mind with some one,the clarity of thoughts comes in. This plays a major role in bringing life on track.

Disclaimer: Don't express your mind in front of people who haven't gone through that situation or your late night social media friends, instead talk about it with someone more experienced, a true well wisher.

3) Contentment: Johnny wants this, Johnny wants that, Johnny wants everything but Johnny is still sad.  Don't be like Johnny, don't press yourself too much, don't set unrealistic goals instead start finding contentment in small things around you, learn to be happy with what you have while progressing towards thing you want. Enjoy the process, keep a smile on and you will note the process of organising life is not that tough.

4) Hardwork: Okay, the most important thing- Hardwork. There is no substitute to hardwork, there can be hacks or algorithms but all that is waste of time, all your plans are time consuming nonsense if you are not willing to take the actual action,to actually work hard.

These four things together have helped me time and again. I am still young by age and feel later I will be adding more things to this list as I learn more from life experiences.

Back story of my attachment with Cube:

Solving cube has always being related to intelligence when we are kid and not aware about algorithms so I was always fascinated about solving it but was never able to except for once when I broke all the pieces using screw driver and then arranged them together.

Later during my college days,I joined an internship in state sponsored research program. I met a person there by the name "Devashish", who became a good friend later on.He always used to have cube in his hand and keeps on solving it in seconds even while talking to our project seniors, For me that was the definition of cool. Later on he told me, he used to intentionally do it to make his presence feel in every situation. He successfully did it,these psychology honours people are actually very intelligent.

I was very impressed with him and wanted to be cool like him but in real never tried that till the time I actually found a cube lying in my college. I took it with me, and spent nights to solve it. I wasn't aware about algorithms then, later on I got attached to these.I  gifted a cube to my friend mentor  and while gifting it I actually draw this whole significance thing and actually started considering them as " my thing of motivation".

Below is the video of my recently solved cube!
